Sunshine Farm Lunch Policy
Each person attending Sunshine Farm is expected to bring their own lunch. We do not provide lunches to individuals who arrive without one.
Making Lunches
We encourage individuals attending Sunshine Farm to make or be involved in making their own lunch at home. We anticipate that each person would make healthy and nutritious choices. Sunshine Farm is Certified Organic, we focus on healthy food choices, and prefer that no ‘Junk Food’ is included in lunches. (Pop, Candy, or heavily processed foods.)
Lunch Time
Each person is expected to be independent with their lunch. This includes the ability to open thermoses, and packaging. If a hot lunch is preferred, a thermos of warm soup, chili or stew is a great idea. There is a microwave available for everyone’s use provided they can use it independently. In the summer, a refrigerator is available for lunches, an ice pack is also a great idea.
Clean up
Each person is expected to clean up after themselves. This includes sorting out garbage and recycling (rinsing containers), taking leftovers home, and leaving their lunch area clean.
Sharing
Please do not share food, or bring treats for everyone. We have several individuals with various food intolerances and allergies.
Staff
Staff are not available to heat or prepare lunches for the individuals attending the farm. Please remember to bring a lunch you can open, and enjoy independently.
Cooking Classes
The cooking classes held at the farm are designed to showcase easily prepared, nutritious, and cost effective foods. Each person is offered a sample at the end of class, not a meal. We work with the food tolerances and allergies of individuals attending that day. If there are any concerns with intolerances we are unaware of, please contact us.
We truly are what we eat, lunch is a wonderful and social time. Let’s enjoy it!
