Sunshine Farm Accessibility Plan 

Purpose:

The purpose of this Accessibility Plan is to identify and address barriers to accessibility at Sunshine Farm. This plan aims to ensure that all individuals, including persons served, personnel, and other stakeholders, can access and benefit from our programs and services in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Identified Barriers:

1. No Access to Upstairs for those requiring the use of a wheelchair.
Barrier: Limited access to the upstairs area for individuals needing wheelchairs.
Action Plan: Install a lift or stairlift to provide access to the upstairs area.
Timeline: Research and obtain quotes by Q4 2024; complete installation by Q2 2025.

2. Lack of Air Conditioning:
Barrier: Uncomfortable working and service environment due to the lack of air

conditioning, particularly during warm weather.
Action Plan:- Install air conditioning units in key areas to ensure a comfortable

environment.
Timeline: -Obtain quotes by Q3 2024; complete installation by Q2 2025.

3. Increased Need for Sign Language:
Barrier: Insufficient access to sign language interpreters for individuals who are deaf,

hard of hearing, or sign language dependant.
Action Plan: Increase the availability of sign language interpreters as needed,

and provide training for staff in basic sign language.
Timeline: Begin staff training by Q4 2024; have interpreters available for key events and services by Q2 2025.

4. Outdated Computers:
Barrier: Outdated computer systems that may hinder access to digital resources and services.
Action Plan: Upgrade computer systems to ensure they meet current accessibility standards

and provide necessary assistive technologies.
Timeline: Complete assessment of current systems by Q4 2024; upgrade computers by Q2 2025.

Ongoing Processes:

Annual Review: The Accessibility Plan will be reviewed at least annually as scheduled in our perpetual calendar, to ensure it remains relevant and effective. This review will include assessing the progress of ongoing actions, identifying new barriers, and updating the plan accordingly.


-Feedback Mechanisms: Sunshine Farm will continue to seek feedback from persons served, personnel, and other stakeholders to identify any additional barriers and address them promptly.
Training and Awareness: Regular training and awareness programs will be conducted to ensure that all staff members are knowledgeable about accessibility issues and committed to fostering an inclusive environment.
